CIBIL stands for Credit Information Bureau (India) Ltd. and it was set up as India’s first credit bureau. It is the oldest and most popular credit companies in India.

Steps to fill Form
- Go to https://www.cibil.com/freecibilscore and click on ‘click here to try your Free Annual CIBIL Score & Report‘ link or go directly to https://www.cibil.com/freecreditscore/
- Click ‘I want my Free CIBIL Score & Report’.
- You have to provide your email address, Date of Birth, Gender, PAN details & Captcha code and then click on Submit button.
- In the next page, you have to provide your communication address, mobile number etc and click on Submit button.
- You will get a pop-up window comparing fee-based CIBIL report Vs free CIBIL report. You can click on No, Thanks option to continue.
- In the next page, you can provide alternate email-id by clicking Submit or skip the step.
- Instantly you will get an SMS to your mobile, with details about your Credit Score. Also, you will receive an email with login credentials to access your Free Credit Report @ myCIBIL.
- You have to now visit myCIBIL page and log-in with the credentials provided in the email.
- You can see your Credit score and Credit Report
What is CIBIL credit report and score?
A credit score is a 3 digit number ranging from 300 to 900 that explains the creditworthiness of an individual. This credit score helps the banks to decide if an individual has the capability to pay any debt or loans upon which an individual’s loan will be approved or rejected by the bank authority. 300 is the lowest credit score where the chances of loan approvals are nil, while score generally above 700 is considered to be a decent credit score. When a person avails any credit from the bank, such as takes a credit card or a loan(personal loan, home loan), credit history begins. Every credit handling behavior is accounted before merging into a final credit score. At present, there are four credit Information companies in India. Credit Information Bureau (India) Ltd. is the first and oldest credit bureau in India. Credit records consisting of borrowing and payments related to loans and credit of companies and individuals are collected and maintained by CIBIL. This information is received by CIBIL every month from its associate partners consisting of banks and credit institutions. With this information, CIBIL produces Credit Information Report (CIR) and credit score and passes both to the banks which in turn guides them to approve/reject loans and credit applications.

As you can check your credit score free of cost once every year, if you are planning to apply for a loan or opt for a credit card, check your score to know the probability of approvals. The steps on how you can get free CIBIL report are given
- Log on to https://www.cibil.com/freecibilscore
- Scroll down to click on Click here to try your free annual CIBIL Score and Report, as shown in the image below.

- You will get another window to fill in the details like email address, PAN, date of birth, Gender.
- If you don’t have PAN, you can click on click here.
- Enter captcha, characters in the box (in the image below are ciaddd)
- Click on Terms and conditions applicable and are available on the site. Go through it.
- Check the acknowledgment box if you agree to the Terms and Conditions
- Click on Submit.

Details to fill in for free Cibil Credit Report when you don’t have PAN
It will show a screen, shown in the image below, where you can enter your details such as name, Date of Birth, contact details.
For Identity proof, you can choose Income Tax Id Number(PAN)/Passport Number/Voter ID Number/Driver License Number, as shown in the image below. This form is also filled by those who have PAN hence PAN is an option available.

A new screen will come where you have to fill in your name, enter your contact details like address, mobile number, and email id. Some information like you Date of Birth, Gender, PAN details, email id are filled in, which you can change.
- You have to fill in your Name, Contact details.
- The Email ID and phone number should be the ones linked to your bank accounts and credit accounts.
- Enter captcha, characters in the box (in the image below are ciaddd)
- Click on Terms and conditions applicable and are available on the site. Go through it.
- Check the acknowledgment box if you agree to the Terms and Conditions
- Click on Submit.

You will get a window asking you to subscribe to regular paid CIBIL report, as shown in the image below.
You can choose No Thanks , if you don’t want to subscribe.If you want regular reports you can subscribe to
If you want regular reports you can subscribe to Bi-Annual Subscription (2 reports for Rs 800 i.e Rs 400 each) or Quarterly Subscription(4 reports for Rs 1Bi-Annuals 300 each). Where you would be taken to another window(after alternate Email ) to pay through credit card, net banking or wallets.

Go on https://www.cibil.com/mycibil/ and log in using the email address where the mail was sent and one-time password in the mail. You will then be asked to change your password. The pPassword should have at least 8 characters with at least 1 lowercase alphabet, 1 uppercase alphabet, 1 special character and at least 1 number.
