How Many Days Will Take To Get PF Amount after EPF Withdrawal

When an employee applies for EPF claim online then it takes 5-30 days to get the PF amount into the bank account.  But the time depends upon how fast the EPFO office clears the claim. Some EPFO offices clear the claim in around 5 days while some take more days.

When an employee applies for the claim in offline mode then it takes 20-30 days.

Once EPF settles the account the EPF site shows the message about the account being settled with the date of NEFT amount. For example, explained below Claim receipt is for 16 Mar 2018, Dispatch Date is 19 Mar. But the amount is credited 2-3 days after the NEFT date mentioned in the Status on EPF site.

The process of Online Withdrawal

  • You should not be working at the time of submission of the claim in an establishment that is covered under the Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952.
  • A claim for the purpose of final settlement can be submitted only after 2 months of the last date of employment.
  • Your Aadhaar and PAN Verified
  • Your previous employer should have updated your Service History with Date of Exit(DOE) of EPF and EPS.
  • Please verify your bank account number. As money is transferred to your bank account.

Select the claim you require out of the 3 namely, full PF Settlement, PF Part withdrawal (loan / advance) or EPS withdrawal as shown in the image below.

  • If someone is applying online for EPF partial withdrawal i.e. loan/advance one doesn’t need to submit any documents along with.
  • You need to fill Form 19 for EPF Withdrawal
  • You need to fill Form 10C for EPS or Pension Withdrawal
  • You need to fill Form 31 for Partial Withdrawal

Login to UAN site with your UAN and password.  Go to Online Services -> Track Claim Status You will see a window similar to  shown in the image below, where it mentions date of claim submission, and status

The same message you will get for Form 10C/Form 31 also. Both the PF amount and pension amounts will be credited to your bank account within 2-3 hours gap. In general, the maximum time for NEFT payment is 1 to 24 hours, But in EPFO case it is taking more than 2-3 days.

What does Claim Status Pending at DA Accounts mean?

If your claim status is showing as pending at DA it means it is stuck at the EPFO office. The approval process in EPFO goes through DA(Dealing Assitant), AO(Assessing Officer) and CO(Cash officer) as shown in the image below.

In EPFO,  Dealing Assistant(DA), is the first person who checks the PF claim applied. He may approve or reject your claim. Once your claim is approved by the dealing assistant then the chances of your claim rejection are very low.  If your claim is rejected by the DA then your claim status will be changed to reject, and the reason for rejection will be mentioned in the PF claim status portal. Based on the reason of rejection you need to rectify and proceed further. Some of the reasons for rejection of your claim by DA

  • Mismatch of your details on the PF account and bank passbook or cheque.
  • If the name is not printed on the uploaded cheque.
  • If PAN and Form 15g are not submitted for eligible cases.

Once DA approves the PF claim then claim is sent to the AO (Accounts Officer),

After approval of AO, the claim is sent to CO ( Cash Officer). Cash officer deposits your EPF claim amount into your bank account through NEFT.

Raise Complaint about PF not settled
