Prize Money of the Cricket World Cup 2019

The total prize money of $10 million will be the same as it was in the 2015 World Cup, which was contested among 14 teams with Australia defeating New Zealand to take the trophy and the winner’s cheque.

The winner of the 2019 men’s World Cup will walk away with a monetary reward of US $4 million, with the runner up getting $2 million.

In the 2019 edition, the two losing semi-finalists will get $800,000 each, also an increase compared to the 2015 edition, where losing semi-finalists were awarded $600,000.

The winners of each league-stage match will receive $40,000 each, and teams whose campaigns end at the league stage will get $100,000 each.

In 1975 for the inaugural event, West Indies received £4,000 for winning, with runners-up Australia receiving £2,000. By today’s standards, it was worth around £23,500.

Cost of the Cricket World Cup Ticket

  • 80,000+ tickets at £20 (over half of the group stage matches)
  • 200,000+ tickets at £50 or less
  • Child tickets at every match, starting from £6
  • Family of four for £52

The cheapest ticket to see either team will cost £40, but these will only be available for England’s matches against Bangladesh and Afghanistan or India’s match against Afghanistan.

England and India fans will pay a minimum of £55 to see their teams and £70 in the biggest games.

And most tickets cost far in excess of £100.
